Patxi Usobiaga and Johanna Ernst win the Rock Master 2008 Basque climber Patxi Usobiaga and young Johanna Ernst from Austria win the 22nd Rock Master in Arco. Patxi Usobiaga and Johanna Ernst provisional first of Rock Master 2008 The great Basque climber Patxi Usobiaga just missed the top to take provisional first place, beating closest rival and fellow countryman Ramon Puigblanque. Third place after Saturday’s on-sight went to Magnus Midtboe from Norway. Johanna Ernst manages to climb to the top and is thereby provisional first, while Maja Vidmar an extremely close second. Adam Ondra won the SALEWA ROCK AWARD while Maja Vidmar won the LA SPORTIVA COMPETITION AWARD. Rock Master 2008 introduction From Friday 5 September to Sunday 7 September 2008 climbing in all its forms will add another important chapter to its history book with the 22nd Rock Master. This competition for the champions will be preceded for the third year running by the Arco Rock Legends, the sports climbing oscars which with the Salewa Rock Award and the La Sportiva Competition Award recognise the best climber on rock and in competitions. The weekend will be driven by a totalising climbing passion in an arena in which has its firm roots.
