For more than 20 years the event has attracted thousands and thousands of passionate spectators: this is the date for everyone's diaries. The world's climbing elite will rise to the challenge in all sport climbing disciplines: lead, duel, speed and boulder.
LEAD
Rock Master is the only competition in the world with the special two-round formula: the first is "on-sight" up an unknown route, the second is "after-work" on a route checked out a couple of days beforehand. These routes combine great technical difficulties with spectacular climbing, delicate balance and real "flights" in search of increasingly distant holds... The final result is the combination of the points of the two rounds. The two "Rock Masters", man and woman, will truly have managed to give it their all, in terms of concentration, technique and power...
DUEL
Rock Master is the only occasion where you can watch one of the world's most exciting disciplines: the direct elimination duel. Two identical, parallel routes of extreme difficulty, with one rule only: the climber who reaches the top first wins. Tactics, determination, technique and speed are all qualities these great climbers need, without exception, to win the "Ennio Lattisi" trophy.
Rock Master Trophy 2009 - XXIII Edition
The classic and historical Trophy dedicated to those "Difficulty" athletes who make stamina, power and technique an art.

where: Climbing Stadium Arco, 18m high, 15m overhanging
who: 10 climbers in the men's category and 10 in the men's category, based on the continuously updated Worldranking, or, put in other words, the strongest climbers in the world in this discipline.
formula: this classic difficulty competition takes place over a two-day period: Saturday's on-sight and Sunday's after work redpoint. The points (ie height) are added together to create the final results.

formula: the top 4 of the final results Rock Master compete in a head-to-head duel on two identical parallel routes. The highest wins, if both reach the same point then the fastest wins. The winners of the first round (1st vs 3rd, 2nd vs 4th) compete in the final for the Trophy.
